McDonalds Changing Happy Meals?
McDonalds is getting rid of their Cheeseburger Happy Meal, and they’ll also no longer offer chocolate milk in any of their Happy Meals, a move to try and make them healthier.
These changes will take place in the states starting this June, and McDonalds says they plan to implement the changes to all their restaurants world-wide by 2022.
If your kid (or even you) love the Cheeseburger Happy Meal, you can still order it, but it won’t be listed on the menu, which will reduce how often they’re ordered. The same goes for chocolate milk.
Their goal is to have Happy Meals listed on menus worldwide have caps of 600 calories, 10% of calories coming from saturated fat, 650 mg sodium and 10% of calories coming from added sugar.
Other changes include; the six-piece chicken nugget Happy Meal will now come with a kids-sized fries instead of a small, lowering calories and sodium from the fries by half. And bottled water will be added as an option to the Happy Meal menu, but will cost extra.
